Import a Library (i.e.
from EndNote)
CiteSmart is compatible with
other reference management software. The following library formats maybe
imported into CiteSmart: XML from EndNote, PubMed, Refer, RIS, BibTex, and
ISI.
An Example for EndNote Users:
For Endnote 9 and above, choose to export a library in XML format. Go to the
CiteSmart File menu and click “Import”. Choose the “XML
from EndNote” format and click on “Browse” to locate the
XML library. Click on “Import” and the library should be loaded
into CiteSmart.
You can also import text if you
paste it in the text area of the Import window.
How to use the PubMed import
format: After a PubMed search, you can save your results to a text file by
selecting “File” from the “Send To” dropdown list.
Save the file.

From the CiteSmart File menu,
click “Import” and choose the PubMed format. Locate the saved
file and then click “Import”. This should import your PubMed
search results into CiteSmart.
Note:Data may be lost during the import/export
