CiteSmart Preview Panel

This panel provides detailed information on the style currently in use and the reference currently selected (or the first reference if multiple references are selected). The information and colors of this panel (except for its background) can be customized in the Preferences menu. From the Edit menu, choose “Preferences” and then click on “Preview Panel” on left hand tree.

Certain font effects such as Subscript and Superscript are not available. This is noted as ‘No Font Effects’.

The Preview Panel can also be helpful in choosing the right style. The “Citation” and “Bibliographic Index” sections are formatted according to the current active style. If the exact journal style needed is not available, this panel can be used to choose the closest match. Additionally the user can also create a style.

IMPORTANT: Some styles require that the journal name be abbreviated while others require the full name. The Preview Panel will not show this information. However the references will be formatted correctly in the Word document. Read more about journal name formatting.
